In response to a planned protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Rawalpindi, authorities have decided to seal off key locations in both Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A total of 9 locations in Islamabad and 25 in Rawalpindi will be completely blocked off on Saturday, with major routes closed using containers, dumpers, loaded trucks, and barbed wire.
Key areas in Rawalpindi set to be sealed include Faizabad Interchange, Kacha Stop, Gulzar-e-Quaid, Shamsabad, IJP Road, Double Road, and Khanna Bridge, among others. In Islamabad, places like T Chowk, Korral, IJP Junction, and Golra Mor will be closed off.

Over 4,000 police officers and personnel equipped with anti-riot gear will be deployed in Rawalpindi, while the Elite Force and patrolling units will assist the Punjab Police. Additionally, the Islamabad police will be responsible for maintaining order and arresting PTI protestors, with high-ranking officers including the DIG Operations, SSP Operations, and other senior officials actively overseeing the situation.
Section 144 has been imposed in both Rawalpindi and Islamabad, banning gatherings of four or more people. The police have been instructed to arrest anyone causing disruptions. Additionally, metro bus services and mobile phone networks will be suspended in the twin cities on Saturday.
