PML-N Announces 33-Member Manifesto Committee for General Elections 2024

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has formally introduced a 33-member manifesto committee in response to the recent announcement by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that the general elections will take place on February 8.

Ahsan Iqbal, the Secretary General, issued an official notification after obtaining approval from the party president, Shehbaz Sharif. This committee is designed to be representative of all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, as well as minorities. Senator Irfan Siddiqui has been appointed as the committee’s chairperson, and the members include Ahsan Iqbal, Parvez Rasheed, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, and Khurram Dastgir.

Additional PML-N leaders who have joined the committee are Rana Ahsan Afzal, Rao Ajmal, Riaz-ul-Haq, Senator Musaddik Malik, Barrister Zafarullah, Dr. Tariq Fazal, Pir Sabir Shah, Akhtar Wali, Khildas Kohistani, and Bashir Memon. Additionally, Raheela Durrani, Uzma Bukhari, Nasir Mehmood, Kamran Michael, Senator Nuzhat Sadiq, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman from Gilgit-Baltistan, and Shah Ghulam Qadir from Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been included in the manifesto committee.

The committee also comprises Senator Dr. Afnanullah Khan, Barrister Amjad Malik, Salma Butt, Ashiq Kirmani, Rahila Khadim Hussain, Rana Sikandar Hayat, Central Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb, Assistant Secretary General Bilal Azhar Kayani, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Shaza Fatima Khawaja.

In parallel, a delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-Pakistan), led by Convenor Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqi, held a meeting with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind. This delegation included Dr. Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal. During the meeting, the leaders discussed the current political landscape in the country and future steps, with a specific focus on the electoral alliance being developed by MQM-P, JUIF, and GDA in the Sindh province, especially in Karachi.
