The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially released the updated syllabus for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, now available on its website. The revised curriculum will serve as the foundational guide for students preparing to enter medical and dental colleges across the country.
The new syllabus emphasizes five core areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning. The PMDC has stressed a shift toward conceptual clarity and critical thinking, encouraging students to align their preparation strategies accordingly.

While the exact date for the MDCAT 2025 is yet to be finalized, the council stated it is likely to be held either on the last Sunday of September or the first Sunday of October, pending final consultations with admitting universities.
As outlined in the latest guidelines, the exam will feature 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) divided into three difficulty levels: 15% easy, 70% moderate, and 15% difficult. Candidates will have three hours to complete the test, with no negative marking applied.
To qualify, applicants must secure a minimum of 55% for medical college admission and 50% for dental colleges, reinforcing the importance of strategic and focused preparation.
