Rainfall has persisted across much of Pakistan, prompting the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) to issue warnings for potential flash floods due to ongoing heavy rains.

Over the last 24 hours, substantial rainfall has been reported in parts of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The PMD forecasts continued rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours, affecting Sindh, northeastern and southern Punjab, eastern Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Low-lying areas in lower Sindh, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera, and Peshawar are also at risk of flooding.

In Lahore, heavy rains on Saturday evening offered some relief from the heat but caused significant disruptions. The downpour, varying from light to moderate, affected several localities including Lakshmi Chowk, Shimla Pahari, Shahdara, Davis Road, Misri Shah, The Mall, Chauburji, Johar Town, Township, Green Town, Iqbal Town, Gulberg, Mozang, Ferozepur Road, Ichhra, and Samanabad.

The heaviest rainfall was recorded at Shahi Qilla with 50mm, followed by Iqbal Town with 46mm, Lakshmi Chowk 38mm, Tajpura 37mm, and Shahdara 35mm. The rain, while providing some respite from the heat, led to widespread power outages and severe waterlogging in low-lying areas, posing challenges for commuters.
