The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted light rain and drizzle in Karachi over the next three days, with sea breeze expected to continue, easing humidity levels.
According to the PMD’s Early Warning Centre, the city will likely experience partly cloudy and humid weather, with daytime temperatures between 31°C and 33°C. Light showers or drizzle may occur in different areas during this period.
While Karachi will remain relatively cooler due to the sea breeze, other regions of Sindh are expected to face hot and humid conditions. However, the eastern coastal belt could receive short spells of rain.
This forecast follows weeks of heavy monsoon rains that caused significant damage in Karachi. In August alone, more than 16 people, including women and children, lost their lives in rain-related incidents such as wall collapses, electrocutions, and drowning.
Just last week, another downpour claimed at least five lives, submerged neighbourhoods, swept away vehicles, and stranded residents. Relief operations by the army and civil authorities rescued over 400 people, while floodwaters from Thado Dam in Gadap Town overflowed into nearby areas, severely disrupting traffic and damaging homes.
