PM Shehbaz Urges Provincial Cooperation For Digital Economy Plan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, known as PM Shehbaz, has called for strong cooperation between federal and provincial governments. This is essential for the success of Pakistan’s digital economy plan.

In a recent high-level meeting, PM Shehbazemphasized the government’s goal to promote cashless transactions. He said digital payments will improve transparency and make financial services easier for everyone.

Officials updated PM Shehbaz on progress, including the launch of the Merchant Onboarding Framework on July 25. They also shared that appointments for the Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA) are almost complete, with final decisions on the chairperson underway.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuous dialogue with provincial governments and all stakeholders. He urged provinces to fully support the federal government in rolling out the digital economy roadmap.

“Digitizing the economy will boost efficiency, transparency, and access for the public,” said PM Shehbaz. “Our aim is to make services convenient without extra costs.”

The government is pushing reforms to increase digital transactions and financial inclusion. Reducing cash dependency remains a top priority for the administration.

Officials from the Ministry of IT and the Digital Pakistan initiative attended the meeting. They presented updates on ongoing projects and future plans to ensure smooth implementation.

The digital economy initiative is a key part of Pakistan’s economic growth strategy. PM Shehbaz is committed to making the transition to a cashless economy smooth and inclusive.

The government plans to keep engaging all relevant stakeholders to maintain transparency and build public trust.
