Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a salary increase for Islamabad police during his visit to the Police Lines Headquarters on Friday, recognizing the officers’ dedication, especially during recent political protests.
Sharif also met with the family of Constable Abdul Hameed, who was martyred during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests, offering his condolences and praising the officers for their service under difficult conditions.

During the visit, the Prime Minister assured that families of martyrs who had not received full benefits from the Shaheed Package would be compensated and directed officials to expedite this process. He also emphasized the urgent need to speed up the construction of the National Police Hospital. The salary increase was seen as a morale boost for the police force, recognizing their sacrifices in maintaining law and order amid ongoing political unrest in the country.
