PM Shehbaz Credits Donald Trump for Defusing Pakistan-India Tensions, Praises Armed Forces’ Response
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday acknowledged the significant role played by former U.S. President Donald Trump in de-escalating tensions between Pakistan and India during a period of heightened military confrontation.
Addressing a ceremony held at the Pakistan Monument in observance of Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude), the Prime Minister praised the Pakistan Armed Forces for their decisive actions and stated that the entire nation stood united behind its military leadership.

“The entire nation is standing firmly behind the Pakistan Armed Forces with full strength,” said Shehbaz. “On May 10, millions of Pakistanis prayed for the success of our armed forces.”
Pakistan’s Response to Indian Aggression
Recalling the critical hours of the confrontation, the Prime Minister shared insights into real-time military decisions.
“The COAS informed me on the night of May 9 and 10 that India had launched missiles. He sought permission to respond decisively—and our forces delivered a response that the enemy will never forget,” Shehbaz revealed.
He said Pakistan shot down six Indian aircraft, dealing a major blow to a country that “once claimed to be the regional hegemon of South Asia.”
“We struck Indian airbases, and they were left scrambling for cover. Later, the COAS informed me that India was requesting a ceasefire,” he added.
Global Recognition of Pakistan’s Military Prowess
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the historic significance of the armed forces’ actions, calling it a moment that would be remembered for generations.
“Few in history are granted a day like this—one that is remembered for centuries.”
He added that discussions were underway worldwide acknowledging Pakistan’s military success.
“Today, global conversations recognize the strategic and powerful response of the Pakistan Armed Forces.”
