Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has set a new target for accelerating the transformation of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). During a review meeting, he emphasized the need for comprehensive digitization and restructuring of the FBR to align with modern standards.

The Minister of State for Finance has been assigned to oversee this transformation. The Prime Minister also directed immediate action against any deficiencies and irregularities identified in the FBR’s track and trace system, highlighting the need for reforms to enhance Pakistan’s tax system.
Separately, PM Shehbaz updated on the progress of the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), noting positive developments and cooperation with China. He urged stakeholders to collaborate on national development projects, such as CPEC, and assured that steps are being taken to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
