In response, DIG South Asad Raza issued a show-cause notice to the Mauripur SHO and established a committee to investigate. He demanded that the SHO arrest the suspects within a week and warned of departmental action if the culprits were not apprehended.

This incident is part of a troubling rise in street crime in Karachi, which has seen an increase in recent months. Official data shows that 82 people have died this year in Karachi due to robbery resistance, with 23 fatalities reported in the first two months alone. The escalation of street crime has raised serious concerns about public safety and the effectiveness of law enforcement.
