PIA partners with Riyadh Air to expand routes and air operations globally

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has finalized a major commercial partnership with Saudi Arabia’s emerging carrier, Riyadh Air, marking a notable development in the airline’s efforts to strengthen its cargo business.

The cargo agreement, which officially took effect on October 29, is designed to improve PIA’s logistics capacity, expand its operational reach, and support a stronger revenue stream. According to a PIA spokesperson, the collaboration will enable smooth cargo movement from Pakistan and London to Riyadh, where shipments will be further transported to global destinations using the combined network and resources of both airlines.

This partnership aligns with PIA’s strategic shift toward expanding its presence in the rapidly growing international freight market. The national carrier sees the deal as a key step toward enhancing market competitiveness and increasing access to new trade corridors.

Officials noted that the cooperation will not only help PIA strengthen its foothold in the Middle East region but also contribute positively to the airline’s financial recovery and long-term sustainability.

As global demand for swift and efficient air cargo continues to rise, PIA views this agreement as a crucial move toward modernization and operational transformation, paving the way for greater international collaboration, efficiency, and revenue expansion in the future.
