[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a significant reduction in airfare for Umrah pilgrims in 2024. This decision comes amidst a challenging economic climate marked by soaring inflation due to stringent conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Pakistan’s next bailout package.
As part of this initiative, PIA has slashed ticket prices by 30% for key Saudi destinations, including Jeddah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Dammam, from April 7 to 11. Additionally, the airline is offering a generous 20% fare reduction for Umrah pilgrims, making the trip more affordable with economy class fares now set at Rs50,000.

This move follows PIA’s recent financial success, having cleared all liabilities, debts, and arrears, positioning it for privatization with a streamlined balance sheet. The clearance of its financial obligations has been officially acknowledged by the Pakistan Stock Exchange, signaling a significant turnaround for the national carrier.
With 170 weekly flights operating across 20 countries, PIA continues to play a crucial role in the aviation industry, facilitating travel for approximately 150,000 passengers to Saudi Arabia annually.
For pilgrims embarking on the sacred journey of Umrah, obtaining the visa has become more convenient through online application processes, eliminating the need for travel agents. This streamlined approach ensures efficiency and convenience, allowing pilgrims to focus on the spiritual significance of their pilgrimage experience.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
