Punjab CM Declares Schools For Transgender Kids

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the establishment of schools for transgender children at the divisional level throughout the province.

She also directed the creation of a Standardized Matriculation Exam Board and Punjab School Inspectorate during a meeting in Lahore to assess school education reforms.

In the session, she thoroughly examined the proposal to centralize all school education matters under a single governing body, which would oversee various aspects such as teacher and curriculum development, school improvement, training, testing, and assessment.

Character development programs in government schools and the provision of special education facilities in one government school per district were emphasized by CM Punjab.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the delayed delivery of textbooks, she was informed that 41% of books have been supplied, with the remaining to be delivered by May. Additionally, educational authorities assured that textbooks for the next academic year would be provided by February.
