Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a special flight schedule for pilgrims heading to Iraq for Arbaeen. Sources confirm that the operation will commence on August 8, with outbound flights from Pakistan to Najaf running through August 11.

Return flights from Najaf back to Pakistan are scheduled between August 18 and 23.

The fare for these special Arbaeen flights has been set at $675 per passenger. However, pilgrims have appealed for a fare reduction and additional flights to manage the increasing demand.

Every year, large numbers of Pakistani pilgrims travel to Najaf by road via Iran, though the number opting for air travel continues to rise. Given the growing interest, officials indicated that both the flight schedule and ticket prices may be reconsidered.
