Parliamentary Secretary for Communication Gul Asghar Khan informed the Lower House on Wednesday that the final auction of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Corporation will take place on October 30th.
Khan was responding to a question raised by MNA Sharmila Sahiba Faruqui Hashaam during the seventh meeting of the 10th National Assembly session. He explained that PIA’s privatization is a comprehensive process, initiated in February 2024, and set to conclude with the auction on October 30th.

The privatization involves various institutions, including the Privatization Commission Board, chaired by the Minister, with the Secretary Privatization Commission acting as its secretary.
He added that the decision to privatize PIA was approved by the Cabinet Committee, with PIA’s operational assets separated, and the final auction will be held under the PIA Corporation.
