The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to rename Peshawar’s historic Arbab Niaz Stadium in honor of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder.
According to official sources, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has approved the renaming, and the provincial sports ministry has prepared a summary for the proposal. The matter is set to be discussed in the upcoming cabinet meeting on Friday, where it is expected to receive final approval.

A KP government spokesperson confirmed that, in addition to the renaming, renovation and beautification efforts are underway at the stadium. “With the provincial government’s approval, significant upgrades are being made to enhance the stadium’s infrastructure,” the spokesperson stated.
Arbab Niaz Stadium, a historic cricket venue in Pakistan, was originally named after the late Arbab Niaz, a former mayor of Peshawar and federal minister.
