According to a press release from the lawyers’ constitutional body, Justice Isa’s participation demonstrated that Supreme Court judges are the guardians of the Constitution.

Former Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, according to the bar council, had also attended a Senate convention. The bar recognises Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s dedication to and support for the Constitution, and dismisses as “unwarranted” the criticism that he should not have attended the convention.

It stated that the PBC has become active in order to end the country’s constitutional and political crises.

In light of the conflict between state institutions, the council has called a representative meeting of lawyers’ organisations from across the country on April 17 at 11:30 a.m.

The meeting, which will take place at the PBC office, will deliberate on a strategy to defuse the current political tension. According to the council, the country cannot afford the difficult situation.

The lawyers’ body also stated that the unfavourable political scenario was undermining the apex court’s prestige, and that the upcoming meetings are aimed at finding a solution to the crises.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
