Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had earlier announced no plans for further holiday extensions, emphasizing the reopening of schools. However, parents are expressing concerns about the worsening health of children in the harsh weather conditions, citing increased sickness and a potential rise in pneumonia cases.

In response, the Chief Minister has called a meeting with education officials to discuss recommendations. Proposed solutions include extending primary school holidays until January 15, adjusting school timings to 9 am to 2 pm, and providing additional holidays for students up to the middle school level while organizing special sessions for ninth and tenth-grade students to prepare for exams.

The final decision on these recommendations is expected after thorough consideration.
