PANAH Faces Backlash for Controversial Social Media Activity

Islamabad, In a developing controversy, the Pakistan National Association for Health (PANAH), a well-known NGO focused on promoting public health in Pakistan, is under scrutiny for its unprofessional social media practices.

Recently, reports emerged that PANAH’s official social media accounts were following multiple pages linked to adult content and female celebrities known for their explicit material. Such associations have raised significant concerns among the public and health professionals alike, as they are seen as incompatible with the ethical standards and professional values that should govern any health-focused organization. The actions of PANAH’s team, which include following accounts with adult content, have sparked a wave of criticism. Critics argue that it reflects a severe lack of professionalism, questioning the seriousness with which PANAH is handling its responsibilities in the health sector.

“Such behavior is not only irresponsible but also harms the credibility of PANAH, which has long been seen as a trusted voice in the fight for public health,” said Dr. Imran Malik, a health policy expert. “This is a serious lapse in judgment, and it undermines the organization’s standing in the eyes of both local stakeholders and international partners.”

As this situation unfolds, stakeholders in the health sector are urging greater accountability and transparency, calling for PANAH to clarify its stance and ensure that it adheres to ethical and professional standards.

It also raised serious questions on the top management of PANAH, as the top management are retired professionals who had served at senior administrative posts in a prestigious government department.
