Pakistan's Ruet-e-Hilal Committee To meet Today For Ramadan Moon Sighting

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to convene this evening (Monday) in Peshawar to discuss the sighting of the Ramadan moon. The meeting will be chaired by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, who has urged Muslims throughout Pakistan to actively participate in the observation of the crescent marking the onset of the holy month.

Should the moon be sighted, the first Roza (fast) of Ramadan 2024 in Pakistan will commence on Tuesday. Alternatively, if the moon remains unseen, the commencement of Ramadan 2024 will be on Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Office, the Ramadan moon was expected to be visible after its birth at 2 pm on Sunday, with an age exceeding 28 hours by Monday evening. They also indicated that there was a possibility of sighting the moon today.
