Khawaja Asif Says Pakistan’s Nuclear Program Is Exclusively for Defence

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has emphasized that Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal is strictly for national defence and not intended for any form of coercion or nuclear intimidation.

In an exclusive statement, he said, “We do not threaten anyone with our nuclear capability. It is purely a guarantee of our national security.”

Targeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Asif added, “Modi now sees Pakistan and its military even in his dreams. The idea of war with Pakistan has become a nightmare for him.” He highlighted that Pakistan has historically defended itself successfully in wars, while Modi faces growing internal challenges within India.

Asif noted rising dissent in India, including from citizens and opposition leaders, who argue that Modi’s policies have pushed the region toward conflict. Criticizing Modi’s governance, he claimed that India’s previous political and economic standing has weakened under Modi, creating opportunities for the opposition to capitalize on his “missteps.”

On security issues, the defence minister accused India of supporting terrorism in Pakistan and abroad, alleging Modi’s involvement in recent incidents in Pakistan and Canada. He stated that groups like the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Taliban factions in Pakistan act as Indian proxies, with evidence shared at international forums.

Asif concluded, “If we act as good neighbours, peace in South Asia is achievable. The people of this region deserve economic growth and stability.”
