Pakistani Woman Among Victims of Fatal Mid-Air Collision Near Washington

Asra Hussain Raza, a 26-year-old Pakistani woman, was tragically killed in a mid-air collision between an American Airlines flight and a US military Black Hawk helicopter, which crashed into the Potomac River near Washington, DC. Asra, a corporate finance graduate and master’s degree holder in public health, was returning to Washington after a work trip to Wichita, Kansas.

Before the crash, Asra had sent a text to her husband, Hamaad Raza, telling him she would be landing in 20 minutes. However, he never received another message, as the collision occurred shortly thereafter. Asra had recently started working for a consulting firm in Washington, DC, and was looking forward to starting a family with her husband. Her loss has left her family heartbroken.

Officials have confirmed no survivors, and the incident has raised concerns about crowded airspace near Washington, DC. The tragic event is now being investigated, with the recovery operation continuing in difficult weather conditions.
