Khan’s detainment stemmed from an incident during a hiking expedition where she displayed the Pakistani flag, prompting Greek authorities to apprehend her. Following her detainment, Khan alleged mistreatment by Greek law enforcement.
During her trip to Greece, Khan was accompanied by her son, whom she left in Athens while embarking on her hike. She claimed that her mobile phone was confiscated by the authorities.
The Pakistani Embassy swiftly sprung into action, facilitating legal representation and engaging directly with Greek officials, ultimately resulting in Khan’s release.
Confirming the embassy’s efforts, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch affirmed that consular access was provided to Khan, with embassy representatives visiting her in jail to extend support.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
