Following overnight Indian missile strikes, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the nation today to present Pakistan’s official stance and reassure citizens during this tense period.

The address comes after an emergency National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, where top civilian and military leaders gathered to assess the situation and finalize a coordinated response.

PM Sharif is expected to outline Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, measures being taken to protect national security, and emphasize unity as the country navigates one of its most serious military escalations in recent times. The speech will be broadcast live on national TV and radio.

The Indian attacks, which struck Kotli, Muzaffarabad, Ahmedpur Sharqia, Bagh, and Muridke, left 26 dead and at least 46 injured—eight of them civilians. In retaliation, Pakistan’s military reportedly shot down five Indian jets and destroyed a key brigade headquarters. DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif called India’s strikes a “cowardly act” and promised continued military response.
