An unidentified 24-year-old man fatally stabbed Dr. Talat Jehan Khan, a 52-year-old Pakistani-American doctor, outside her residence in Conroe, Texas, under circumstances that remain unclear.
According to reports, Dr. Khan, who had recently relocated from Seattle to the Houston area and was employed at a local hospital, was sitting at a picnic table when the assailant, Miles Joseph Fridrich, repeatedly stabbed her before fleeing on foot.

Dr. Khan’s niece, Mahnoor Mangrio, expressed the profound loss her family is experiencing, emphasizing her aunt’s strong faith and her remarkable qualities of love and kindness. She described Dr. Khan as “the best aunt.”
The motive behind this tragic murder remains unknown. The Council on American-Islamic Relations in Houston issued a statement expressing its vigilance in monitoring the investigation, stating, “Although it is uncertain at this time if this incident constitutes a hate crime, we are closely following the ongoing investigation due to the tragic circumstances. We will continue to oversee the situation, launching our own inquiry, and maintaining a dialogue with law enforcement.”
