Pakistan Wins Against Australia In Volleyball Series Opener

Pakistan’s volleyball team secured a victory over Australia in the inaugural match of a three-game series at the Liaquat Gymnasium in the Pakistan Sports Complex. The home team dominated the court, triumphing in all three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-20.

Organized by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) at the request of the Australian Volleyball Federation, the series promises intense action for local fans. With free entry, the matches aim to garner strong support from the home crowd.

The win against Australia serves as a significant morale boost for the Pakistani team as they gear up for the upcoming Challenge Cup in Bahrain next month. Both teams displayed skill and determination, setting the stage for a competitive series.

The second match is slated for May 29, followed by the final match on May 30, with both games scheduled for 6:30 PM. These matches will serve as crucial preparation for the Challenge Cup.

This series not only showcases the rising popularity of volleyball in Pakistan but also strengthens the sporting relationship between Pakistan and Australia. While Pakistan recently clinched the championship in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) league, Australia holds a higher rank in the sport.

Chairman of the PVF, Ch Mohammad Yaqoob, anticipates an exhilarating contest between the two formidable teams, providing Pakistan with a robust challenge ahead of the Asian Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup in June.
