ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to building a secure and prosperous regional environment. His remarks came during the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference held in Islamabad on Saturday.
Senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan participated in the summit. The gathering marked a significant step towards strengthening military partnerships and security cooperation across Central and South Asia.
The conference was held under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace.” Discussions focused on regional security trends, counterterrorism, joint military training, and hybrid threats. The participants highlighted the growing need for multilateral defence efforts to tackle transnational challenges.
In his address, COAS Munir emphasized the importance of mutual trust, joint efforts, and continued strategic dialogue. He noted that today’s security landscape is shaped by complex threats, including terrorism, cyber insecurity, and regional instability.
“Pakistan remains fully committed to working with partner nations to build a secure and prosperous regional environment,” Munir stated.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the summit aimed to create a shared vision for defence cooperation, especially in areas like counterterrorism and cyber defence.
Visiting delegations praised Pakistan’s leadership, hospitality, and initiative in hosting the summit. They supported the idea of ongoing defence diplomacy and collaborative strategies to ensure lasting peace.
The conference concluded with a joint resolve to promote regional solidarity and stability through sustained cooperation.
