Pakistan on Friday reiterated its firm commitment to the One-China policy, emphasizing that it regards Taiwan as an inalienable part of China. The statement comes amid ongoing developments in the Taiwan Strait.

Responding to media queries, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrab said Pakistan would continue to fully adhere to the One-China principle. He stressed that the country’s position on this matter remains unchanged.

“We will continue to adhere to the One-China principle and regard Taiwan as an inalienable part of China,” the spokesperson stated clearly. His remarks reinforced Pakistan’s long-standing diplomatic stance.

Tahir Andrab highlighted the strong bilateral relationship between Pakistan and China. He described the two countries as “iron-clad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners,” emphasizing the depth of their cooperation in political, economic, and strategic matters.

The spokesperson added that Pakistan consistently supports China on issues relating to its core national interests, including Taiwan. He stressed that Islamabad values China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and will continue to uphold these principles in international forums.

This statement reaffirms Pakistan’s traditional position on China-Taiwan relations. Islamabad has long supported Beijing on matters concerning national sovereignty and territorial integrity, reflecting the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations.

Analysts note that Pakistan’s reiteration of support for the One-China policy strengthens its diplomatic ties with Beijing and signals continuity in foreign policy. The reaffirmation also reflects Islamabad’s desire to maintain stability in regional relations.

The reaffirmation comes at a time of heightened attention to the Taiwan Strait. By publicly supporting the One-China principle, Pakistan signals its commitment to international norms recognized by Beijing.

Pakistan’s consistent backing of China’s core interests underlines the trust and mutual respect between the two countries. It also reflects Islamabad’s broader foreign policy priorities in Asia, where strategic alliances and territorial sovereignty are highly valued.
