Pakistan Sees Significant Decrease In Solar Panel Prices

There has been a significant decrease in the prices of solar panels, offering a notable relief to people grappling with inflation. This reduction in solar panel costs has made them more affordable and accessible for Pakistanis, particularly as they increasingly turn towards green energy amidst soaring power tariffs.

Recent reports indicate a substantial drop in the prices of solar panels in the provincial capital. Systems ranging from 7 to 15 kilowatts are now available at prices reduced by Rs. 200,000.

For instance, the price of a 7-kilowatt system has decreased by Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 825,000, while a 10-kilowatt system is now priced at Rs. 1.125 million. Similarly, the cost of a 12-kilowatt system has seen a reduction of Rs. 200,000, bringing the new price to Rs. 1.4 million. Furthermore, the price for a 15-kilowatt system now stands at Rs. 1.6 million after a reduction of Rs. 200,000.

This sudden decrease in prices is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with the approach of the summer season, during which prices traditionally tend to rise. It’s a stark contrast to the situation last month, when solar panel prices were on the rise due to increasing demand ahead of the summer season.
