Pakistan Sees Notable Improvement In Corruption Rankings

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Pakistan has demonstrated significant progress in the fight against corruption, as reflected in its ascent of 7 positions in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2023, now standing at 133, compared to its previous ranking of 140 in 2022.

Furthermore, there has been a tangible improvement in its CPI score, witnessing a 2-point increase to reach 29 in 2023, up from 27 in 2022.

These advancements highlight the collective efforts made across various government sectors to effectively address and combat corruption.

Justice (R) Zia Perwez, Chair of Transparency International Pakistan, praised the government’s dedication to enhancing governance and enforcing laws more effectively. He expressed optimism that these policies will yield further positive outcomes in the future.

Transparency International has emphasized the critical importance of granting justice systems autonomy, adequate resources, and transparency to comprehensively combat corruption.

Perwez stressed the necessity for governments to strengthen legal frameworks and procedures to empower justice institutions in their ongoing battle against corrupt practices.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
