Pakistan Secures Big Win Over UAE in Women’s Asia Cup

In the Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 match on Tuesday at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Pakistan’s Gull Feroza scored her second consecutive half-century to lead her team to a commanding ten-wicket victory over the UAE.

Opting to field first, Pakistan’s bowlers restricted the UAE to 103-8 in their 20 overs. Pakistan chased down the target with ease, reaching 107-0 in just 14.1 overs, thanks to a superb opening partnership.

Feroza’s unbeaten 62 off 46 balls, featuring eight boundaries, was a standout performance. She and Muneeba Ali (37 not out off 30 balls) shared a 107-run opening stand, marking their second century partnership in two games. Feroza was named Player of the Match for her stellar innings.

For the UAE, Theertha Satish top-scored with 40, while Esha Oza and Khushi Sharma contributed 16 and 12 runs, respectively. Pakistan’s bowlers, including Sadia Iqbal (2-11), Nashra Sundhu (2-22), and Tuba Hassan (2-17), played a crucial role in dismantling the UAE lineup.

This win puts Pakistan Women in a strong position to secure a semi-final spot in the tournament.
