In parts of Pakistan, especially Karachi, there has been an increase in flu and chest infections, with nearly one-third of flu patients testing positive for COVID-19.

Officials are urging PCR testing for accurate COVID detection and recommending mask-wearing and social distancing to prevent the spread of these viruses. Health authorities are monitoring the situation closely and working to contain the rising number of cases.

HMPV Symptoms:

  • Cough
  • Moderate Fever/Chills
  • Runny or Stuffy Nose
  • Headache/Body Pain
  • Fatigue
  • Pneumonia

HMPV cases have surged in China, raising concerns about a potential pandemic similar to COVID-19, which had a global impact.

HMPV, first detected in 2001, is not a new virus and is part of seasonal respiratory infections, primarily affecting young children and those with weakened immune systems. Experts have stated that there is no immediate need to panic, as there are no signs of a global crisis.

Precautions like wearing masks and maintaining good hygiene are recommended to prevent transmission.
