Pakistan Railways has revised its ticket refund policy for purchases made at POS counters and through the RABTA app, as per an official notification. The updated policy outlines refund rates based on the timing of cancellations before a train’s departure.
Passengers canceling tickets purchased at POS counters at least 48 hours before departure will receive a 90% refund. Cancellations made between 24 and 48 hours prior will be refunded 80%, while those canceled within 24 hours will get a 70% refund. If canceled within two hours of departure, passengers will only receive 50% of the ticket price.

For train cancellations or delays exceeding six hours, passengers are entitled to a full refund. This can be claimed at POS counters by presenting the original ticket and a copy of their CNIC. The policy ensures protection for travelers in such scenarios.
Refunds for online bookings will be processed through the original payment service provider, following the same refund percentages as POS purchases. However, online tickets cannot be canceled once the train has departed, and cancellations are restricted if less than 1 hour and 30 minutes remain before the train’s departure.
