The premier stated that the procurement targets should be increased to ensure a consistent supply of wheat all year long during a meeting held in Lahore to discuss the national wheat procurement programme.

To ensure that the farmers benefited, he requested that the provincial food departments and Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO) directly buy wheat from the farmers. The output of wheat in the current year, its stock levels, and the departmental procurement goals of the federal and provincial governments were all disclosed to the conference. The prime minister commended the minister of food security and other pertinent officials for their actions and expressed his appreciation.

He claimed that the administration is developing a plan to increase production the next year. He also ordered harsh measures against hoarders.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
