Pakistan Post massively hikes delivery rates

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Pakistan Post hiked its domestic and international mail rates by 50% beginning August 1. The Ministry of Communication announced an increase in the tariffs for non-registered regular letters, envelopes, and aerogrammes. The charge for 20 grams, for example, has risen from Rs. 20 to Rs. 30, while the tariff for 50 grams has risen from Rs. 38 to Rs. 60.

Pamphlets, magazines, periodicals, sheets of music, maps, printed circulars, invitations, bills, greeting cards, and books other than textbooks have also had their rates raised from Rs. 2 to Rs. 5 per 100 grammes.

Rates for parcels have also risen. The charge for a 1 kg parcel, for example, has risen from Rs. 100 to Rs. 150, while the rate for a 3-kilogram parcel has risen from Rs. 175 to Rs. 270.

The cost of printed materials and shipments, including textbooks, has risen. Rates for urgent postal service have also risen. The rates for delivery within cities or between Rawalpindi and Islamabad would be raised from Rs. 59 to Rs. 90, inclusive of all taxes and levies. The charge for 500-gram shipments will be Rs. 110, with an extra Rs. 45 for each half-kilogram after that.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
