Pakistan Navy to Host AMAN-25: Ninth Edition of Multinational Maritime Exercise
The Pakistan Navy is preparing to host the ninth edition of the multinational AMAN exercise, AMAN-25, from February 7 to 11. This year’s exercise will feature a significant event—the AMAN Dialogue—where naval chiefs, Coast Guard heads, and senior leaders from around the world will gather to discuss regional maritime security and formulate joint strategies to address emerging maritime threats.
Approximately 60 countries will participate in AMAN-25, contributing ships, aircraft, Special Operations Forces (SOF), Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams, Marines, and observers. The inaugural International AMAN Dialogue will take place alongside the exercise, bringing together global delegations to engage in discussions and cooperation.

The AMAN series, initiated by the Pakistan Navy in 2007, has steadily grown, with participation increasing from 28 countries in its inaugural year to 50 nations in 2023. The exercise’s core mission, encapsulated in its motto “Together for Peace,” aims to foster regional peace and cooperation. This year’s theme, “Secure Seas; Prosperous Future,” highlights the critical role of maritime security in ensuring global prosperity.
The exercise will feature both harbour and sea phases. During the harbour phase, there will be seminars, operational discussions, counter-terrorism demonstrations, and pre-sail planning. The sea phase will include tactical maneuvers and exercises in maritime security, such as anti-piracy, counter-terrorism, search and rescue, gunnery firings, and air defence exercises. The highlight of the sea phase will be the International Fleet Review, which will be attended by dignitaries from both Pakistan and participating countries.
