Pakistan Weekly Inflation Rises 1.93% Amid Fuel Price Surge

Pakistan has recorded a noticeable increase in Inflation during the past week. The rise has been mainly driven by higher fuel prices, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

The weekly Inflation rate increased by 1.93%. This pushed the overall annual rate to 12.15%. The sharp rise reflects growing cost pressures on households across the country.

Officials reported that prices of 28 essential items increased خلال the week. At the same time, 8 items became cheaper, while 15 showed no change. This mixed trend highlights the uneven movement in consumer prices.

Fuel prices played a major role in the increase in Inflation. Diesel prices rose significantly by 54.71%. Petrol prices also increased by 17.86%. These changes have impacted transportation and daily expenses.

Food items also showed upward movement. Tomato prices increased by 9.35%, while LPG prices rose by 8.61%. Potatoes became 4.13% more expensive. Egg prices went up by 3.77%, and bread prices saw a slight rise.

Meat prices also recorded small increases. Beef prices rose by 1.07%, while mutton increased by 1.05%. These changes have added to the overall burden on consumers.

However, some items provided slight relief. Garlic prices dropped by 3.78%, and bananas decreased by 3.39%. Prices of chicken, flour, ghee, and cooking oil also showed a decline during the same period.

Experts say rising fuel costs are a key factor behind the increase in Inflation. Higher transport and production costs usually lead to price hikes in other sectors. This creates a chain effect across the economy.

The recent data shows that household budgets remain under pressure. Many families are facing challenges due to rising costs of daily essentials.

Analysts believe that future trends will depend on global oil prices and government policies. Any further increase in fuel costs may push Inflation even higher.
