The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday released official details of military and civilian casualties from the recent confrontation with India, now commemorated as “Marka-e-Haq” — a name symbolising Pakistan’s defensive stand during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus on May 6 and 7.
According to the ISPR, 11 soldiers, including six army personnel and five from the air force, embraced martyrdom. An additional 78 military personnel were injured. The names of the fallen heroes were released, honouring their bravery and sacrifice for the nation’s defence.

Civilian casualties were also heavy, with 40 lives lost — among them women and children — and over 120 injured due to Indian shelling across the Line of Control. The ISPR reaffirmed the nation’s unity and commitment in the face of external aggression.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared May 10 to be observed annually as ‘Marka-e-Haq Day’ and announced May 16 as a ‘Day of Gratitude’. He also unveiled a relief package for the martyrs’ families, including financial aid, housing support, and educational benefits for their children.
