Pakistan Rejects Baseless Claims of Nationals’ Involvement in Ukraine War

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has firmly denied recent allegations linking its nationals to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the Foreign Office described the claims as baseless and without evidence. It clarified that no verifiable proof has been shared by Ukraine to support such accusations.

The denial came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that foreign mercenaries, including some from Pakistan, were reportedly fighting in northeastern Ukraine. He made these remarks during a visit to frontline positions in the Kharkiv region on Monday.

Responding to these statements, Pakistan’s Foreign Office stressed that it had not received any formal communication from the Ukrainian government regarding this matter. It also confirmed that the government will be seeking an official explanation from Kyiv.

The Foreign Office reaffirmed Pakistan’s neutral stance on the Ukraine conflict. It highlighted the country’s consistent call for peace and a diplomatic solution. The spokesperson emphasized Pakistan’s support for the United Nations Charter and the peaceful resolution of all international disputes.

Pakistan has long maintained that dialogue is the only effective way to end conflicts. It rejected any implication that its citizens were involved in foreign wars, stating that such claims harm diplomatic relations and global peace efforts.

The government called on all parties to avoid speculation and rely on facts when addressing sensitive issues such as international conflict.

This strong response underscores Pakistan’s commitment to neutrality and its efforts to stay out of external military engagements.
