Pakistan Declares Feb 8 a Mourning day for Prince Aga Khan

The Pakistani government has declared a day of mourning to honor the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan.

On February 8, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across the country, as per a notification issued by the Cabinet Division with the Prime Minister’s approval.

Prince Karim Aga Khan, the 49th spiritual leader of the Ismaili community, passed away in Lisbon, Portugal, at the age of 88.

Following his passing, Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V was appointed as the 50th hereditary Imam of the Ismaili community. The Aga Khan Development Network confirmed his succession after the unsealing of Aga Khan IV’s will.
