On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, Pakistan voiced strong solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), denouncing the brutal tactics employed by occupying forces.

In an official statement, Pakistan reiterated its firm stance against torture, emphasizing its commitment to eradicating such inhuman practices and upholding human dignity. The Foreign Office stressed that torture in any form contradicts the principles of justice, mercy, and compassion enshrined in Islamic teachings.

“Islam upholds the sanctity and dignity of every individual,” the statement read. “Acts of torture and cruel treatment are fundamentally opposed to the values of justice and humanity central to our faith.”

Pakistan highlighted its ongoing legal and institutional reforms to combat torture, including stronger oversight mechanisms and support systems for victims. The government is working to ensure accountability while providing medical, legal, and psychological aid to survivors.

The statement also condemned the systemic torture in occupied territories, particularly in Palestine and IIOJK, where oppressive forces allegedly use violence to suppress the right to self-determination. Pakistan called on the international community to hold the occupying powers accountable and take decisive action to protect victims’ rights.

The Foreign Office urged global leaders to stand against these injustices and work toward ending the suffering of oppressed populations.
