Pakistan Choose to Bat First in Asia Cup 2025 Match Against India

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first against India in their much-awaited Asia Cup 2025 clash at Dubai Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Captain Salman Ali Agha confirmed no changes in the lineup that defeated Oman earlier this week.

This is the first face-off between the rivals since the May military escalation, when both sides exchanged missile fire. Despite initial uncertainty, the contest is going ahead, with fans on both sides anticipating a high-intensity battle.

Both teams enter in strong form. India hammered the UAE by nine wickets, while Pakistan crushed Oman by 93 runs. Pakistan will depend on Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, and Mohammad Haris, while India banks on Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah.

India leads the Asia Cup rivalry with 10 wins in 19 encounters, while Pakistan has six victories, the last in 2022. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub expressed confidence, noting the dry Dubai pitch could favor the side batting first.

The Asia Cup, launched in 1984 by the Asian Cricket Council, has seen India dominate with eight titles, Sri Lanka with six, and Pakistan with two.
