Pakistan Calls for UN Accountability on Israel’s Actions in Palestine

Ambassador Munir Akram, while addressing the UN Security Council, strongly denounced recent large-scale Israeli military operations in the Palestinian West Bank and stressed the need for holding those responsible for grave human rights violations and crimes in occupied Palestine accountable.

The Pakistani envoy emphasized that the loss of innocent lives in the region is tragic and called on the UNSC to fulfill its primary responsibility of maintaining international peace and security in occupied Palestine. Pakistan also expressed concern over the illegal expansion of Israeli settlements and the displacement of Palestinians from their properties, highlighting that these actions violate international law and impede the path to a peaceful resolution.

Khaled Khiari, Assistant Secretary-General for Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific, reported on the escalating violence in the occupied West Bank, which underscores the urgency of addressing the conflict and finding a just and lasting solution.
