A unit from the Pakistan Army has achieved the silver medal in a prestigious international military competition. The event, known as Exercise Cambrian Patrol, took place in the United Kingdom and is renowned as one of the world’s most challenging military contests.
Colonel Taimur Rahat, who serves as the Military and Air Attaché at the Pakistan High Commission in London, provided insights into the competition and the Pakistan Army’s representation. He emphasized that this competition is regarded as NATO’s most demanding patrolling event on the global stage and has been hosted in the UK since 1959.
In this contest, which featured 113 teams, including India, Colonel Taimur credited the team manager, Major Osama, and the observer, Major Haseeb, for the Pakistan Army’s remarkable performance.

As per Colonel Taimur, the participating teams undergo grueling 48-hour exercises within a 60-kilometer area. These exercises simulate combat scenarios and involve handling explosive materials, serving as rigorous tests of the soldiers’ physical and mental resilience and high-level endurance.
The Pakistani contingent, comprising members of the 67th Punjab regiment, was under the leadership of Lieutenant Owais Usman.
Notably, this marks the second occasion in recent months when the Pakistan Army has secured a top position in an international military competition. Previously, in June of this year, Pakistan achieved the second position in another international military drill competition known as the ‘Pace Sticking Competition,’ which was held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst for the third consecutive year.
