Over 1100 Accidents Reported in Punjab in One Day

Road accidents are alarmingly frequent in Punjab, with 1,107 incidents reported in the past 24 hours, causing 10 deaths and injuring 1,143 people. Among the injured, 565 were seriously hurt, while 578 received minor injuries and immediate treatment.

The report highlights that 72% of these accidents involved motorcycles. The victims included 602 drivers, 50 underage drivers, 137 pedestrians, and 414 passengers.

In terms of cities, Lahore recorded the highest number of accidents (287), followed by Faisalabad (78) and Multan (72). Of the victims, 951 were male and 202 were female.

On Independence Day, there were 1,659 car accidents, resulting in 17 deaths and 1,773 injuries across Punjab. Lahore witnessed the most accidents and aerial shootings.

The day before Independence Day, the Emergency Service Department reported 1,234 vehicle accidents, causing nine deaths and 1,338 injuries.

Motorcycles, auto-rickshaws, motorcars, and other vehicles were involved in these incidents. With the increasing accidents, drivers are advised to remain cautious and adhere to responsible driving practices.
