Oscar Winning Film Parasite's Actor Lee Sung Kyun Found Dead

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]On December 27, Lee Sun-kyun, the acclaimed Korean actor famous for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” was discovered dead at the age of 48.

Notably known for his participation in the drama “Coffee Prince,” Lee Sun-kyun was undergoing a police investigation for alleged illegal drug use, involving marijuana and psychotropic substances, which initiated in October.

Due to the ongoing inquiry, he had been prohibited from leaving South Korea.

Reports from Korean media indicated that Lee Sun-kyun was found deceased in his car near Waryong Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The cause of death appeared to be suicide, with a charcoal briquette discovered in the passenger seat of his vehicle, as reported by Yonhap News.

The police received a 112 report from his wife at approximately 10:12 a.m. on December 27, revealing that her husband had left the house after leaving a note. Subsequently, the police were dispatched and identified the vehicle as belonging to Seon-gyun Lee.

Lee Sun-kyun is survived by his wife, actress Jeon Hye-jin, and their two sons. As of now, details about his funeral have not been finalized.

Born in 1975, Lee Sun-kyun had an extensive career in the entertainment industry, starring in various dramas such as “Pasta,” “Loveholic,” “Golden Time,” “Miss Korea,” “Listen to Love,” “My Mister,” and “Diary of a Prosecutor.” His most recent drama project, “Payback,” was released earlier this year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
