Orphan Girl Allegedly Assaulted and Killed by Family Members in Rawalpindi

21-Year-Old Orphan Allegedly Raped and Poisoned to Death in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI – A horrifying case of rape and murder has surfaced in the Natha Chhattar area of Rawalpindi’s Jatli Police Station jurisdiction, where a 21-year-old orphan girl, residing at her sister’s house, was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law and another man before being poisoned to death by family members.

According to reports, the victim’s own family subjected her to violence and, upon discovering she was eight months pregnant, allegedly forced her to consume poisonous pills, leading to her death.

To cover up the crime, the family falsely claimed she had died due to a medical condition and hastily buried her. However, after the case gained attention on social media, Rawalpindi’s City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Hamdani took notice and ordered an exhumation and post-mortem examination.

Investigation Unveils Disturbing Details

The post-mortem report confirmed that the victim had endured severe torture and was eight months pregnant at the time of her death. Police have registered a case against the brother-in-law, Gulfraz, another suspect Ameen, and several other family members involved.

After the case went viral on January 13, CPO Khalid Hamdani directed SP Saddar Nabeel Khokhar to oversee the investigation. Based on witness accounts, a legal process was initiated, and the court approved the exhumation for further investigation.

Following forensic confirmation of rape and abuse, Jatli Police registered a case against:

  • Gulfraz (brother-in-law)
  • Gulzar Begum (Gulfraz’s mother)
  • Anila Bibi (Gulfraz’s sister)
  • Ameen (co-accused)

Charges include rape, murder, concealing evidence, and physical abuse.

Victim Had Reported Abuse Before Her Death

Statements from locals and witnesses revealed that the victim had repeatedly informed her sister, Rafia, about the sexual assault and physical abuse inflicted by Gulfraz and Ameen. On January 13, after dropping her children at school, Rafia allegedly saw Gulzar Begum and Anila Bibi brutally beating the victim with sticks. Moments later, Rafia learned that the suspects had mixed poisonous pills in water and forced the victim to drink it.

Forensic Testing and Arrests Underway

Authorities have sent forensic and DNA samples to the Forensic Science Agency for further analysis. Meanwhile, police raids are ongoing to apprehend Gulfraz, Ameen, and the two female suspects. Law enforcement officials remain confident that arrests will be made soon.
