Oppo unveils AR Glasses With MicroLED Display.

Oppo did not unveil a new flagship phone at MWC. Instead, the business showcased its smart gadget lineup, which included the Oppo Air Glass 2 Assisted Reality glasses, the Zero-power tag, and the Wi-Fi 6 EasyMesh router.

The Air Glass 2 is a pair of augmented reality glasses that allow users to view projected information without blocking their peripheral vision. Oppo debuted these glasses at Inno Day 2022, and they integrate the company’s patented resin SRG-diffractive waveguide lens technology, as well as vision correction capabilities.

Each side of the frames holds a microLED display, and the glasses can emit information at a brightness of up to 1,000 nits per eye. The frames of the Oppo Air Glass 2 can also be modified to suit individual tastes.

These glasses are surprisingly light, weighing only 38 grammes, a quarter of the weight of conventional AR/VR headsets. They also feature a sleek style and look like a standard set of reading glasses.

Oppo Air Glass 2 can be used in conjunction with your smartphone. They can make calls, provide navigation routes, and display notifications without any wired connectivity. Furthermore, Oppo has integrated capabilities like as language translation and voice-to-text conversion, which will aid people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 platform, which is often seen in high-end smartwatches, powers the Oppo Air Glass 2. The glasses include a 200 mAh battery that lasts up to 3 hours and can be recharged through magnetic pins on the back of the frames.

Each side of the frames has two buttons that serve as interface controllers. The glasses also have speakers, allowing users to listen to sounds. The UI structure is simple, with apps like weather, maps, and calendars, as well as a teleprompter for presentations and a translation tool. The menus are shown in a vivid green font that evokes the Matrix.

While the Air Glass 2 is still in the idea stage, it is unknown when the glasses will be commercially available.
