Oman Secures Top Spot In Global Safety Rankings

The Sultanate of Oman has once again demonstrated why it ranks among the safest countries in the world, according to the latest Gallup Global Safety Report. Oman’s strong showing underlines its growing reputation for security, order, and peaceful daily life.

The Gallup survey, which polled over 145,000 adults worldwide, found that approximately 94 % of Oman’s residents said they felt safe walking alone at night, a remarkable indicator that sets Oman apart in the league of the world’s safest countries.

Being one of the safest countries has become a significant brand for Oman. Analysts say its success stems from visible law‐enforcement presence, well-lit public spaces, and a cohesive social fabric that supports low crime and high trust in institutions.

Oman’s climb in the rankings comes alongside other Gulf states, but its consistent performance gives it extra distinction. Past indices already placed Oman among the top spots for safety and low crime.

At the same time, safety is just one part of the global picture. Recent data showing how Pakistan ranked 17th in the Global Generosity Index highlights how social trust and community values often align with feelings of security. In the same way, Oman’s standing among the safest countries reflects a wider regional pattern of stability, civic harmony, and strong governance.

For travellers, expatriates and regional investors, a country being listed among the safest countries signals more than just low crime; it indicates infrastructural reliability, regulatory clarity and a strong sense of collective responsibility. Oman appears to tick all those boxes.

While rankings always come with caveats, data collection methods, cultural biases, and sample sizes, the clear message is that Oman’s position among the world’s safest countries is well supported by quantitative findings and lived experience on the ground.

In short, Oman’s presence among the safest countries sends a strong signal of progress, societal strength, and an inviting environment for everyday life and long-term engagement.
