OGRA Proposes Rs5.27/litre Reduction In Petrol Price From June 1

The federal government is anticipated to announce a decrease in petroleum product prices, potentially reducing them by up to Rs5 per litre starting from June 1.

According to reports in local media, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed a reduction in petrol prices by Rs5.27 per litre, bringing it down from Rs273.10 to Rs267.83.

Additionally, there is a proposal to lower the prices of high-speed diesel by Rs4.13 per litre and light-speed diesel by Rs5 per litre. If approved, the price of one litre of diesel would decrease from Rs274.08 to Rs269.95.

OGRA has also suggested a reduction of Rs2 per litre for kerosene from the beginning of the next month. The final decision on adjusting petroleum product prices lies with the Finance Ministry, which is expected to announce the new prices on May 31.
